Since the re-launch of the
network at the Velo-city Global 2010 in Copenhagen ECF started to celebrate a
meeting with the network members as a satellite event of Velo-city. The cities
and regions are mostly represented by their bicycle officers, but also from
Vice-Mayors or other officials responsible for transport. The event the City of
Adelaide and ECF prepare for Monday 26th of May 2014, the day before the
conference officially starts, is for the members of ‘Cities for Cyclists’ and
representatives of Australian cities, invited by the City of Adelaide. The
event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the developments in the Velo-city Global 2014 host city and to network with representatives
of other cities, during the tour and during lunch. Participation is free of
charge for the members of the Cities for Cyclists network.
The provisional program for
26th of May 2014 is:
• 11am – 3pm Adelaide –
City for cyclists tour: The city of Adelaide will take the
participants on a tour to show the city development and the cycling
infrastructure (lunch included)
• 3pm – 4pm Meeting of
the network ‘Cities for Cyclists’: Organized by ECF and hosted by the
City of Adelaide
• Time to be defined
Mayoral and Ministerial Reception for all ECF networks:
representatives of the Cities for Cyclists network will meet representatives of
the other ECF networks (ECF member organizations, Scientists for Cycling, Cycling Industry Club) and other invited guests.
The City of Adelaide will send
invitations for this event to Cities for Cyclists members in February 2014. If
you are a member of the network and you already know who will represent your
city or region in Adelaide, please let us know by sending an email to velo-city@ecf.com!
